Life Unexpected: An Unexpected Surprise

I had cut the cord with cable television back in December 2006 when we launched NewTeeVee. Three years later, I still have little need for television. I occasionally watch over-the-air broadcasts and recently saw the first episode of a new TV series: Life Unexpected.

It is a bitter sweet story of a 15-year-old girl who finds her biological parents. Dad is a 30-something bar owner. Mom is a neurotic morning talk radio co-host. The kid is sassy and smart. The show is based in Portland, one of my favorite cities. The pilot and the second episode both crackled with wit, energy and chemistry.

I have fallen for this show…hook, line and sinker. I seriously hope they can keep the smart banter and emotional blabber in harmony. If you get a chance, watch this show. I just signed up for the iTunes subscription on my Apple TV
