Stop the 2.0 Madness - 11 comments

Is it me, or are you suffering from the 2.0 fatigue. Everything is 2.0…. no it is not …. what it is complete and absolute lack of imagination. 2.0 is devoid of even a pretension of creativity or thought. So stop it please…. find a new buzz word.

Find your own “progressive term” and not follow the herd. I don’t know what 1.0 is so I don’t know what 2.0 is, and don’t care what Dell 2.0 is: Dell, only with twice the explosive power? Voice 2.0? How about just clear voice? My good buddy, Pip Coburn who was living it up in Monaco at some digital media boondoggle, writes:

This week I had to hear about “Security 2.0″. Here is Symantec’s CEO John Thompson’s definition as relayed by our friends at Computergram: “Security 2.0 is not about a new service or one killer app. It is about mitigating risks in order to seize the opportunity we have…” Almost as clear as what a service oriented architecture is, huh?
